Who Should Attend?The HL7 Meetings are open to anyone interested in e-Health, Health Informatics and Healthcare IT Standards. The education program of the Meeting includes free introductory sessions as well as tutorials at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. The Standards development will be undertaken in ~65 different committees that meet throughout the week.Meeting VenueThe meetings of the HL7 International Working Groups and Committees will be held at the Cliftons Meeting and Training Center right next to the Amora, Marriott, Four Seasons, etc. hotels within two minutes' walk of Sydney Harbour and a stone’s throw from the historic The Rocks precinct. We have contracted the entire purpose-built Cliftons corporate meeting rooms building with their excellent AV/WiFi facilities which allows us to schedule additional tutorials and education sessions of the Extended Education Program.Working Group & Committee MeetingsAll HL7 International Working Groups and Committees are scheduled to meet in Sydney to progress the various HL7 standards and other projects. These meetings are scheduled throughout the duration of the WGM.Education ProgramEducation Sessions and TutorialsAs at every Meeting of the HL7 International Working Group, there will be a rich education and training program including free introductory sessions, focussed beginner & advanced tutorials and certification exams. At the Sydney Meeting, there will be ~40 Tutorials in the following tracks:

HL7 NewsInternational Healthcare Modelling SDO 30th Anniversary Plenary Meeting in Beijing, ChinaFriday, 9th September 2011 The 30th Anniversary Standards and Implementation Meeting of the International Healthcare Modelling Standards Development Organisation (IHMSDO) will be held in Beijing, China. IHMSDO's CEO Rasmussen, speaking at the recent HIMSS AsiaPac event in Brisbane, Australia, expects over 1,100 developers, implementers and users to attend. "I expect a similar number to attend by tele-presence, so we will have well over 2000 participants." said Rasmussen. After the recent amalgamation of HL7 with DICOM and IHE, IHMSDO has significantly accelerated e-Health and Telehealth roll-outs globally. IHMSDO will meet 11-16 September 2016 in Beijing, China. HL7 International 25th Anniversary Plenary Meeting in San Diego, USA Tuesday, 26th July 2011 The next Working Meeting, held in San Diego, USA, will be the 25th anniversary of the founding of Health Level 7. During this time, HL7 has grown from a group of US implementers frustrated with an ever-increasing number of point-to-point interfaces to the leading authority for global healthcare IT standards. While the scope of the first standard was limited to administration of patients, diagnostic laboratory reporting and billing, HL7 today covers all areas of healthcare including genomics. The HL7 meeting in San Diego will be held from 11-16 September 2011. Preparations for May HL7 International Working Meeting in Orlando, USA, under way Saturday, 26th February 2011 The next Working Meeting of HL7 International, the leading authority for global healthcare IT standards, will be held May 15-20 in Orlando, Florida, USA. More than 50 Work Groups, Committees and Task Forces will meet to progress the HL7 V2.x, CDA, V3 and EHR Standards.

Travelling to SydneyComing to Sydney is easy with over 40 international airlines flying into Sydney and over 500 international flights arriving per week. Travelling to Sydney is convenient for our North American participants, as all flights go non-stop from the three gateways Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver to Sydney. The meeting venue Cliftons is in the city-centre of Sydney, right next to the harbor, a 20-minute taxi or airport train ride from Sydney Airport.

Accommodation in SydneyFor the Meeting in Sydney, we have taken the approach of hiring the complete Cliftons Meeting and Training Center for the Work Group and Committee meetings. Suites: Do you need a visa?Most Sydney WGM participants will only need an "Electronic Travel Authority" (ETA) which you can obtain online in about 5 minutes - like the US, Australia now requires for travel security reasons that visitors register their intent to travel online.
