"Unified Modelling Language (UML) in Healthcare" Courses

HL7 Australia, in conjunction with HL7 New Zealand, is happy to announce three "UML in Healthcare" Courses:

        New South Wales: September 29&30, 2003 - Oracle offices, 4 Julius Ave, North Ryde
        Victoria: October 2&3, 2003 - Oracle offices, St Kilda Road, Melbourne
        New Zealand: October 7&8, 2003 - Wellington, NZ

The Courses will be taught by Charlie Mead, M.D., M.Sc., - Oracle, Oakland, USA - Member HL7.org Board.  The sponsorship of Oracle Australia is gratefully acknowledged.

The focus of Workshop will be on 'analysis' rather than 'design/implementation', but depending on the backgrounds of the participants, spend some time on code/DDL generation from diagrams, executable models, etc... as well as the HL7 Development Framework (HDF), mapping to the HL7 Reference Information Model (RIM) and beyond, etc.

The basic format of the Workshop is lecture -> hands-on -> lecture -> hands-on -> etc.  with the amount of hands-on time increasing over the two days as the amount of lecture time decreases. The hands-on time is done in groups of 4 or 5 working on an assigned topic (common topic for entire class on day 1, individual group topics on day 2).

Each group will give 15-20 minute presentation of their diagrams at the end of the 2 days.  Successful participants will be given a certificate at the end of the Workshop.

Each workshop is limited to 25 participants.

Workshop fees Australia:
HL7 Members rate is $795 (Early Bird rate before 15/09/03 was $595).
Non members rate is $895 (Early Bird rate before 15/09/03 was $695).
